First, pardon my bad English, I am not used to write something in English. Speaking and listening, too. If you have some koeran friends, ask them.
Many Koerans eat an Octopus alive. Some foreigners in Korea are embrassed. When they know koreans eat an Octopus alive. It is clalled 산낙지(SanNakji). 산(san) = alive, 낙지(Nakji) = an Octopus.
See the clip as follows. Two koeran foods are introduced, but I can explain only an octopus. the clip says not kiding them, but intorducing korean foods.

How about you? Suprizing? Or Disgusting?
But, an Octopus was fed to a bull or a cow in a spring hardworking day.
About 100 years ago, Korea was a farming society. Most of farmer have their own bull or cow. Of course, most of all are cows. Because of getting a youngster. A cow is a heavy machinery for agriculture and transporting, a property, and also a one of the farmer's family.
Mrs. Pearl buck, the writer of the good Earth, was impressed, when she saw a korean farmer with his cow. He got budened with his cow carring an empty cart. Mrs. Pearl buck asked him “Why don’t you giving your burden to your cart?” the farmer said “my cow worked very hard today, so I got some burden share not to tire my cow.”
Anyway, the cow was somethimes tired, and then collapsed. At that time, korean farmer fed an Octopus alive to his cow. A few minutes later, the cow get back and vibrant. I don’t correctly know whether the famrer made his cow work or rest. When the cow is tired, korean farmer fed such grains as barley, bean to get back his cow, not hay. A living Octopus is one of the best food for stamina. Both a man and an animal.
When I was a middle school student, My eldest uncle told the story.
Notice 1.
what supports stamina is not a cooked octopus, but a living one. A cooked one is also a good food, because it provides some variant nutritions. especially a pregnant woman. But the cooked one doesn’t support the more vital power.
Notice 2.
When you eat an Octopus alive, Chew it tightly so that the sucker of it can’t operate. If you swallow the sucker of an octopus, not to chew it tightly, the sucker might stick to your stomach wall, and then you might get sick. Chew, chew, chew it, and swallow.
difficult to understand? but, don't ask for me. please~.
